Apprentice workshop, all about Github....

Today we are learning the ins and out of Git and Github.  In regard to writing messages, write in the present tense and make is meaningful and concise.  

In the group project today we created a repository where files were added. 

In the group project today we did a group git projects below I show you the steps that were taken.


Initialising a repository

git init

Cloning the repository for access locally

git clone <url>

Creating a new branch and checking out into that branch

git checkout -b <newbranchname>

Adding changed file and committing changes with message

git add <name of amended file>

git commit -m "add comment to readme file"

Pushed changes to back to origin

git push origin <name of branch>

I have recently completed my apprenticeship.  I am currently building the API to a React JS site using Firebase.
